Bhekie Mamba
My name is dr. Bhekie Mamba, senior lecturer in Chemistry (polymer & organic)
at the University of Johannesburg, Department of Chemical Technology in
South Africa.
My research group focuses on the removal of organic pollutants and inorganic
species, to a lesser extent, from water using carbon based nanomaterials and
cyclodextrin polymers. Our research group is part of the UJ Water and Health
group which is co-led by prof. Paul Jagals (Department of Environmental Health)
and prof. Johannes Haarhoff (Department of Civil Engineering Science). My
visit to the Department of Water Management at the TU Delft entails familiarising
myself with the water treatment projects currently underway here with the
ultimate objective of initiating research collaborations between our two universities.
To this end, I am on a 2.5 months visit.
