Nestled between the picturesque villages of Writtle and Roxwell, <strong>The</strong> Duck sits in the tiny hamlet of Newney Green and enjoys all of the peace and quiet of the English countryside <strong>as</strong> if from a bygone era. Now under new ownership, <strong>The</strong> Duck operates <strong>as</strong> a free house. In order to wet your palate, there are always 4 regional real ales available on draught plus at le<strong>as</strong>t 2 on the back bar poured at gravity. Our first cl<strong>as</strong>s selection of other drinks also includes a quality wine list and a huge selection of Malt Whiskies. On the food front, our menu reflects everything that is great about Great Britain and draws on the excellent range of food available locally, put together in the shape of simple, honest, hearty dishes. <strong>The</strong> Duck welcomes one and all, whether it’s to enjoy a traditional three course meal in our wooden beamed dining room, or simply to join the cyclists and walkers with a country platter sat around our fireside.
