In terms of newborn companies, the most rapidly growing
sector on national level is construction, as number of companies
has increased more than twice since 2004. However,
current decline in terms of work force and company
number is evident in 2008.
Number of companies manufacturing coke, refined petroleum
products and nuclear fuel has also increased, however
the total number of these companies is insignificant.
Other sectors with a high number of newborn companies
were transport, storage and communication sector, other
community, social and personal service activities, hotels

The leading sectors in terms of net sales were transport,
storage and communication, construction, real estate,
renting and business activities, electricity, gas and water
supply, manufacture of wood and wood products. These
sectors altogether constituted over 10 milliards Euro of net
