LMS International NV:
an aSam oDS application for
nVh Domain at PSa Peugeot
Citroen, Designed with lmS
The ASAM ODS solution is now the standard for test data
management at PSA Peugeot Citroën. This new NVH solution
completes the ones deployed for powertrain and durability
test areas and confirms our strategy. Our main need
was to use the standard format to save and share data
throughout the development process.

Summary
Challenge: Storing a variety of NVH measurement
data in the same format, searching for
tests with multiple criteria, and easily exchange
data between test and simulation domains, are
important issues for PSA Peugeot Citroen.
Solution: Data provided by LMS Test.Lab, Head

Artemis and MBBM Pak Systems are converted
to ATFX files together with additional information
like test condition, unit under test, etc.. User-friendly
interfaces allow engineers to search
for data and add new information, before submitting
conversion and import operations in
batch mode on a server. ASAM ODS data and
files in native LMS format are managed by AVL
Santorin using mixed mode storage.
Key Benefits: Data centralization in a standard
format (ASAM ODS) managed by Santorin,
using its ATFX/ATF file import and export facilities.
An advanced ASAM ODS browser in
LMS Test.Lab to access the data and the ability
to read ATFX files in LMS Virtual.Lab.
Situation
Distributed NVH testing, modern development
process (in closed loop with simulation
tools such as LMS Virtual.Lab) creates a need
to establish a structured way of collecting, importing
and retrieving NVH test data, centralized
in a standard format.
ChallengeS
The challenges were to find an appropriate datamodel
that covers the needs for PSA Peugeot
Citroen NVH engineers from different subdomains
(specifically, by defining meta information
that correctly represents the exact specifications
of the unit under test, the condition of the test,
etc.), to optimize the global system performance,
and to write out explicit use cases for
validating the correct handling of the extremely
rich NVH data.
SuCCeSS Strategy
In order to reach our objectives, we reused
existing components like PSA Peugeot Citroen
ATFX gateway and the ASAM ODS library, LSF
for job submission; we used standard Santorin
