Photo: Frieler Numerous spectators awaited the selection of the champion mare from the final ring with great excitement. The ring was filled with mares of high-carat quality. St.Pr.A. Lilliefee succeeded in showing herself off even better at this second presentation to win the overall championship title in front of reserve champion St.Pr.A. Santanyi. Because of the high overall quality on this show this is a phenomenal success for both mares. The impressive mares on the final ring in the afternoon demonstrated the impression the show in its entirety had already conveyed. In addition to long lines all mares impressed with elegance and athleticism underlined by good self-carriage in the movement. The consistently increasing interest in the Herwart von der Decken-Show on the national but also the international level was much felt this year as well - because of the many spectators and much internet activity. Full praise for the team The Danish Hanoverian Association organizes both its Hanoverian shows at the end of June. Both events were enriched with classes for four- and five-year old dressage horses for the first time. By Dr. Ludwig Christmann Alarge-framed two-year old black mare by De Niro/Robin out of the breeding program of Christel Bendixen, Randers was highlighted as champion mare on the small show in Hedensted. On the final ring she competed against the important Lady Longlife by Londonderry/Racot owned by Jens-Martin Laursen, Thorsoe. The black mare Sauvignon by San Remo/Davignon out of the breeding program of Lisbet Jörgensen, Augustenbork was also on the final ring with a 1a-classification which makes her an aspirant for the Elite title. She impressed with her enormous moving potential in the trot and canter in the mare performance test that took place the same day. Two other mares participated in the mare performance test that had already been presented on the mare show in Fehrenbötel. One of them was Björk by Belissimo M/Donnerhall who was exhibited by Heidi Jensen, Gadjerg. She was highlighted as the best mare of the performance test because of her steady and consistent performances in all three parts of the mare test. Ten foals participated in the foal show. The final ring offered very homogeneous and high quality. A long-legged son of Krack C/ Lauries Crusador xx (owner: Diana Vejrso Kruse, Vinderup) was highlighted as the champion foal. A very powerfully moving daughter of Fidertanz also out of a mare by Lauries Crusador xx (breeder: Johannes Sondergaard, Glebjerg) was highlighted as the best filly. A large-framed and powerful moving daughter of Chequille/Davignon (breeder: Hubert Knigge, Ahlden) caught everybody’s attention in the division for dressage horses. This filly had already caused a stir on Danish dressage horse shows. In Ringsted south of Copenhagen we clearly noticed the close proximity to Sweden as several Swedish breeders presented their Hanoverians. Nine mares participated in the mare performance test. Four-year old Queen by Quaterback/Sandro (breeder: Andrea Lahmeyer, Bassum) stood out. Lena Nystroem from Sweden had bought the elegant bay on the foal auction in 2008. She impressed every one with her outstanding canter, her high rideability and also her very good free-jumping. Another foal auction purchase was selected as show champion though: Permilla Stroem also from Sweden had bought Dolle Sport Breeding Deern by Dancier/Worldly in 2009. This youngster had not lost any of her former movement qualities. As a matter of fact this mare presented herself in the trot and in the walk with movement far above average. In the end she was highlighted as the show champion. A 2-year old daughter of Stevie Wonder/Heslegaard’s Rubin was awarded a Ia-prize on the final ring, too. The third elite mare candidate next to Dolle Deern and Queen was the four-year old powerful mover Quiara by Quarterback/Don Frederico (breeder: Dr. Thomas Müller, Buchholz; owner: Lise Steffensen, Farum). The foal show featured an unchallenged winner; a filly by Quarterback/Wolkentanz II out of the breeding program of Anne Kollberg; a very typy filly with very elastic moving mechanics. A Dancier/Weltmeyer colt out of the breeding program of Pernilla Svensson from Swedish Broby became the best colt of the show. The competition in the division for four- and five-year old dressage horses delivered a superior winner with five-year old Rose Wild CBS by Roosevelt/Wittinger (owner: Charlotte Olsen, Heddinge) who had been highlighted as elite mare candidate last year. The test rider was Lena Gronnemose and the judge Lorenz Linnet who is the president of the Danish association.
