From 24 August, Susanne Stolte, together with Clemens Berendsen, will form the Board of Directors
of Hotelschool The Hague. Clemens Berendsen: “I am very pleased with the appointment of Susanne
Stolte. With her experience as chair at NCD and as member of the Board of Directors at Thomas
Cook I am convinced that she has the appropriate, solid background necessary to further develop our
school of excellent higher professional education and achieve our goals, I am looking forward to
working together with her”.
Hotelschool The Hague achieved exceptional results last March in the accreditation by the NVAO
(Dutch Flemish Accreditation organisation), in which the school received a score of “excellent” for 11
of the 16 assessed standards. In August of this year the Amsterdam campus will move to a beautiful
new location near the Rembrandtpark, making both campuses equal in size and appearance.
Ambitions are high: by 2020 Hotelschool The Hague wants to be seen and experienced worldwide as
the ‘centre of excellence in hospitality’, leading in the field of education, research, and training &
consultancy.
Susanne Stolte is enthusiastic about her new position: “Hotelschool The Hague is an absolutely
wonderful educational institute with a strong international character, an excellent reputation and
strong ambitions; this especially appeals to me. It will give me great pleasure to use my broad
experience, knowledge and wide network to represent this institute, and to direct it together with a
dedicated team in order to put this institute on the map as the top class institute worldwide”.
Hotelschool The Hague, was founded in 1929, making it one of the oldest independent hotel school
in The Netherlands. The school has two campuses, one in The Hague and one in Amsterdam with a
total of 1,900 students and 180 employees. Graduates of Hotelschool The Hague occupy leading
positions in the hospitality industry on all continents. In 2002 together with ‘The Leading Hotels of the
World’, it set up ‘The Leading Hotel Schools of the World’; an association of leading hotel schools in
the world. www.hotelschool.nl
