abroad, and from three of our own graduates as members. This year JPA welcomed
new member Sivanie Shiran and new graduate Lee Robbins. Lee presented her thesis
project, “Archetypal Parenting: Towards a Reverie of Origins” at our Fall Weekend
colloquium in Rhinebeck, New York.
The second annual Philip T. Zabriskie Lecture took place on November 22, 2008.
James Hillman delivered “Aphrodite's Justice to an audience of approximately 380
people. We were pleased to see many from within and outside the Jungian community
in attendance.
A number of JPA members attended the CNASJA conference in Sebasco, Maine, and
two of our members presented papers. Melinda Haas’ paper was entitled “Can Music
Save the World?”, and Alan Jones delivered “The Fate of 'Symbol' in Jungian
Discourse”.
We are hoping soon to receive accreditation by the State of New York to train
individuals who are not otherwise already licensed to be psychoanalysts. Many thanks
to Margaret Klenck, Morgan Stebbins, and members of our Training Committee for
continuing dialogue with the New York State Office of the Professions in pursuit of
this goal.
Finally, our website has been artfully renovated – thanks primarily to JPA members
Priscilla Rodgers and Douglas Tompkins and our web designer Ellen Scott – with
