McKinnon, and Bradbury, with Willits, Wehrle, and Horn gaining<br />

membership during the year. Beck was editor-in-chief of the Tiger,<br />

weekly newspaper, and Horn was elected to the same post for next<br />

year; Bell was sports editor. Alpha Psi Omega tapped Willits and<br />

Horn. Members of the Science Club were Bradbury. Horn, E. Wehrle,<br />

and F. Wehrle. Haviland was president and Bell and Clark were members<br />

of the Commerce Club. Hegren edited the Green Sheet which is<br />

the annual freshman edition of the Tiger. Hall Weir was a member<br />

of the college mixed quartette. Dyall and Crane took the ping-pong<br />

tourney with Uttle effort. Harold Clark and Charles Horn were<br />

awarded leading parts in the commencement play. New Brooms.<br />

Justin Bradbury was named the Most Representative Man on the<br />

Wesleyan campus. He was also named a member of I *, scholastic<br />

honor society. Dyall, Beck, and Kale were three of the four members<br />

of the tennis team during the spring. The chapter ranked high<br />

scholasticaUy. On May 9 the chapter entertained their mothers.<br />

Nineteen mothers were present with their sons.<br />

Iowa Beta—State University of Iowa<br />

FALL found the chapter well represented on the<br />

football team by Bowlin, Newbbld, Wagler, and<br />

Haltom. O'Brien and Mhrphy were taking their<br />

preliminary work with the freshmen. O'Brien<br />

won his numerals for his work. Jack Tschirgi<br />

was a regular point winner on the gym team.<br />

Delzell and Burnett worked out with the basketball<br />

squad. Frank Miller was <strong>No</strong>. 2 man on the<br />

golf team. Newbold was varsity javelin man.<br />

Among the freshmen, Carney and Grimm showed<br />

well on the frosh track team. <strong>Phi</strong>keias Gerdes and<br />

Haack were candidates for the baseball team.<br />

Murphy was a member of the freshman wrestling DAN O'MALLEV, PRESIDENT OF IOWA BETA, GREETS<br />

team. McElroy led the freshman tennis men. Zim­ WILLIAM GEORGE '84, A CHARTER MEMBER<br />

merman was a member of the cross-country /.- > 'J-~<br />

group. Bowlin and Haltom were regulars with the varsity nine. Grimm and Kelly were members of<br />

the band. O'Malley was active in dramatics. Mockridge was a member of the interfratemity court,<br />

and was initiated into * A *. Edgar Rex was news commentator over WSUI. J. Neff Wells was a<br />

reporter, and Henry Gerdes was a sports reporter, for the Daily lowan. Edward Freutel was a member<br />

of the varsity debate team. Ted Landsberg was vice-president of the pharmacy college. O'Malley was<br />

Panhellenic representative on the student board of publications for<br />

the second successive year. Henry Zimmerman was awarded an<br />

expert rifle marksmanship badge. The chapter's kittenball team<br />

worked its way through sectional brackets to win the interfratemity<br />

championship. The chapter placed third in the annual interfraternity<br />

sing. The scholarship of the chapter stood high throughout<br />

the year. Dwight Rice was elected to ^ B K.<br />

Iowa Ganmia—Iowa State College<br />

THE boys at Ames are a formidable group of activity men. In Cardinal<br />

Key, the most coveted honorary at Iowa State, three <strong>Phi</strong>s,<br />

Reynolds, Oberg, and Cliff, were members. Memberships in the industrial<br />

science council were held by Garberson, Bovey, Harry and<br />

Zac Dunlap, Wahl, Reynolds, and Picken. Boudinot and Gauthier<br />

were members of the engineering coundl. Boudinot was elected<br />

president of this council and WUlits was placed in the same office of<br />

the agricultural council. Burkett, Fay, and Dodds were members of<br />

the Knights of St. Patrick. Dodds was chosen honorary St. Pat. at<br />

the Engineers Ball. Reynolds, Warrington, ahd Heinemann were
