David M. Naeger received his medical<br />
degree in 2005 from Duke University<br />
School <strong>of</strong> Medicine in Durham, North<br />
Carolina. He followed this with a oneyear<br />
internship in Medicine at the<br />
California Pacific Medical Center in<br />
San Francisco. During his diagnostic<br />
radiology residency at UCSF, Naeger<br />
completed a research fellowship as a<br />
recipient <strong>of</strong> the NIH/NIBIB T32 Training<br />
Grant (2009–2010), and served as<br />
chief resident (2009–2010). In 2010,<br />
he received the <strong>Department</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Radiology</strong><br />
and <strong>Biomedical</strong> <strong>Imaging</strong>’s Elmer<br />
Ng Award. After completing his residency<br />
in 2010, Naeger did a fellowship<br />
in both Cardiac and Pulmonary <strong>Imaging</strong><br />
and Nuclear Medicine sections at<br />
UCSF. In July 2011, Naeger accepted<br />
the position <strong>of</strong> assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong><br />
clinical radiology at UCSF.<br />
Elissa R. Price, MD<br />

Women’s <strong>Imaging</strong>, Mt. Zion<br />
Elissa R. Price received her medical<br />
degree in 2004, followed by a diagnostic<br />
radiology residency completed in<br />
2009, both at the University <strong>of</strong> Toronto<br />
Medical School, Canada. In 2010, she<br />
completed a year-long fellowship in<br />
Breast and Body <strong>Imaging</strong> at Memorial<br />
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New<br />
York, New York. From 2010–2011 she<br />
was an attending radiologist in Breast<br />
<strong>Imaging</strong> at Maimonides Medical Center<br />
in Brooklyn, New York. In July<br />
2011, she accepted an assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />
<strong>of</strong> clinical radiology position in<br />
Women’s <strong>Imaging</strong>, UCSF. Her areas <strong>of</strong><br />
interest include breast cancer, mammography,<br />
BRCA, breast ultrasound,<br />
and medical education.<br />
Viola Rieke, PhD<br />

Resource Group, China Basin<br />
Viola Rieke, PhD, received her MS in<br />
Electrical Engineering from the University<br />
<strong>of</strong> Rhode Island, Providence,<br />
RI in 1999. In 2005, she received a<br />
PhD in Electrical Engineering from<br />
Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.,<br />
where she worked in the <strong>Department</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Radiology</strong> as a research<br />
assistant (2000–2005), a research associate<br />
(2005–2010), and senior research<br />
associate (2011). While at Stanford,<br />
she received the Electrical Engineering<br />
Diversity Doctoral Fellowship in<br />
2000. In particular, Rieke’s research<br />
focuses on magnetic resonance guided<br />
focused ultrasound and MRI-guided<br />
cardiac FUS. “This is a new and very<br />
promising methodology for noninvasive<br />
treatment <strong>of</strong> various diseases,<br />
but there are still many technological<br />
challenges that have to be overcome<br />
for a widespread adoption <strong>of</strong> FUS into<br />
clinical routine,” she says. In November<br />
2011, Rieke accepted a position<br />
as assistant pr<strong>of</strong>essor in residence at<br />
China Basin.
