Commission. Its main target is to develop an
operational concept for the European ATM system
and its latter validation by a platform.
The projects that have been completed were the
following ones:
• ONESKY. Its objective is to develop and to
evaluate proposals for a European airspace
structure, able to support an efficient traffic flow
based on needs rather than on existing national
structures.
• AFAS. Its primary targets are those to define,
develop, integrate and verify the avionics package to
support ATM functionalities of the airspace in 2005.
• THENA. Whose principle objective is to create
and develop a thematic network of activities
related to Airport environment.
• APPROVE. Comprises the implementation of
instrument approach procedures based on
P-RNAV at different European airports, one
located in Spain, Seville.
Preparation and submission of tenders for the
following projects:
• CATAS. Aimed to determine channels to
coordinate processes and methodologies of the VI
FP projects in the domains of security, human
factors and validation.
• C-ATM and C-ATM 2. It is aimed to achieve a
detailed definition of all the development phases
of the future operational concept 2010-2020, to
assess its benefits and to accomplish the
commitment of the main parts involved to later
initiate its development and implementation.
• EMMA and EMMA 2. Aimed to mature and
validate A-SMGCS concept as a ground- air
integrated system.
• RESET. Its objective is to analyse in detail the
current separation standards applicable to the Air
Navigation field.
• TAL. It is aimed to develop technologies and
operational procedures to improve safety and
capacity whilst taking into account environmental
aspects.
• SPADE. Its objective is to develop an integrated
computational platform to support political and
strategic decision-making related to airport and
operational development and planning.
Los proyectos finalizados fueron los siguientes:

• ONESKY. Cuyo objetivo es desarrollar y evaluar propuestas para
un espacio aéreo europeo que pueda soportar el tráfico futuro de
forma eficiente, basándose en las demandas más que en las
estructuras nacionales.
• AFAS. Sus objetivos principales son los de definir, desarrollar, integrar
y verificar el paquete de aviónica que soportará la funcionalidad
ATM para el espacio aéreo del año 2005.
• THENA. Cuyo objetivo es la creación y desarrollo de una red temática
de actividades relacionadas con el entorno aeroportuario.
• APPROVE. De implementación de procedimientos instrumentales
de llegadas basados en P-RNAV en algunos aeropuertos europeos
y en España (Sevilla).
Elaboración y presentación de ofertas para los proyectos:
• CAATS. El objetivo es determinar las vías de coordinación de los
procesos y metodologías de los proyectos del VI PM en los dominios
de seguridad, factores humanos y validación.
• C-ATM y C-ATM 2. Su objetivo es conseguir una definición detallada
de todas las fases de desarrollo del futuro concepto operacional
2010-2020, valorar sus beneficios y buscar el compromiso
de los principales afectados, para iniciar posteriormente su
desarrollo e implementación.
• EMMA y EMMA 2. Cuyo objetivo es madurar y validar el concepto
A-SMGCS como sistema integrado tierra-aire.
• RESET. El objetivo es analizar detalladamente los estándares de
separación actuales aplicables en el ámbito de la N.A.
• TAL. Su objetivo es desarrollar tecnologías y procedimientos operacionales
para mejorar la seguridad y capacidad, teniendo en
cuenta además aspectos medioambientales.
• SPADE. El objetivo es desarrollar una plataforma computacional
integrada que dé soporte a la toma de decisiones políticas y estratégicas
relacionadas con el desarrollo y planificación aeroportuaria
y de operaciones.
