PHYSICAL CHARACTERIZATION OF PET MASONRY, COMBINED WITHGROUNDABSTRACTIntroduction: The development of new technologies for the solution of housingtype VIS is a need generated by the search for alternatives to traditionalconstruction materials and methods. It is so methodical and controlled analysis of anew building components such as the masonry PET (plastic containers filled withearth materials), is a necessity for the improvement of the current constructionprocedures. Objectives: Mechanically characterize PET (Poly EthyleneTerephthalate), for use as masonry units in combination with earth materials.Assessing stress-strain parameters, the processes of anisotropy, and the costbenefitratio of using masonry PET. Develop a simplified guide to construction ofwalls with PET bottles. Methodology: This research is based on the followingstages: Data Collection, experimental design, evaluation of the costs of PETmasonry construction and consolidation of the results in the development of abuildingguide with masonry PET. Results: Results are expected as part of theinvestigation a group of products that allow the implementation of PET masonry inreal civil works, through the characterization of these elements, the development oftest methods and construction specifications that allow the feasibility of a civilproject using these masonry PET. Conclusions: At the time, the development ofthe project can complete some aspects of the containers used, and the types ofearth materials for filling.KEY WORDSAlternative, Characterization, Container and Masonry PETINTRODUCCIÓNEn la actualidad el cuidado del medio ambiente es prioridad, y cualquier tecnologíaque se desarrolle con este objetivo genera beneficio para la humanidad.
