Project Progress
Ho Man Tin Station
December 2011
• The removal of trees in the Ho Man Tin Station site is in progress since
November after approval by the Lands Department. Inspections have been
conducted by tree experts in which the health conditions, height, species and
safety factors were properly recorded prior to the works. It is recommended
that trees with a low survival rate after transplanting are to be removed, while
some will be planted on the slopes adjacent to the station as compensation,
which will result in a larger number of trees in total.
• Wuhu Street Temporary Playground will be temporarily closed from March
2012 to facilitate the construction of the new covered footbridge across
Chatham Road North.
• The kerosene station at Chung Hau Street will be demolished to make way for
the construction of the station entrance and public transport interchange.
• Works on the construction shaft and noise
enclosure at Fat Kwong Street Playground
is in progress. The noise enclosure will
effectively help reduce the noise of
construction of the shaft, thus minimising
nuisance to the residents nearby.
• Excavation is being carried out for the Ho Man Tin Station. Open blast for the construction of station and relevant facilities will be
carried out in early 2012 when the excavation reaches the required depth to hard rock.
Whampoa Station
• Man Siu Street has been permanently
closed since September 2011. Meanwhile,
the footbridge connecting Man Siu
Street and Site 11 of Whampoa Garden is
temporarily closed until 2015 for staircase
modification and pipe pile installation.
• Pipe pile works at the junction of Hung Hom
Road and Tak Man Street is in progress. The
dividing strip between the traffic lanes at
Hung Hom Road has also been demolished
for road modification works.
• Underground utility diversion and road modification is
in progress at the junction of Tak On Street and Shung
King Street for construction of the station concourse
by the cut-and-cover method. It is expected to be
completed by end 2011.
• Road modification works at Wan Hoi Street has been
completed. Erection of hoardings and the construction
of the shaft and noise enclosure are underway.
