GUNTA STÖLZL
(1897 – 1983)
Gunta Stölzl, Weberin, studierte von 1919 bis 1925 am
Bauhaus, u. a. bei Paul Klee. Später lehrte sie dort
nicht nur, sondern übernahm 1927 auch die Gesamtleitung
der Weberei. Dort gelang es ihr, den Wandel
vom bildhaften Einzelstück zum modernen Industrieentwurf
zu vollziehen.
Gunta Stölzl, weaver, studied at the Bauhaus from 1919 to 1925, among
others under Paul Klee. Later on she not only taught there: in 1927 she
assumed general direction of the weaving studio. While there she accomplished
the transformation from the pictorial, one-of-a-kind piece to the
modern industrial draft.
Gunta Stölzl, tisserande, a fait des études au Bauhaus,
de 1919 à 1925, notamment chez Paul Klee. Maître artisan, elle assuma,
dès 1927, la direction de l’atelier de textile. Designer, elle y a accompli le
passage de la création unique au concept industriel moderne.

(1911 – 1993)
Monika Bella Broner. Von 1929 an Studium am Bauhaus
Dessau und Teilnahme an Kursen bei Josef Albers, Paul Klee
und Wassily Kandinsky. Während der Studienzeit arbeitete
sie an Produktionsmustern zur industriellen Herstellung
von Webstoffen.
Monica Bella Broner. Studied at the Bauhaus in Dessau from 1929 on, attended
courses given by Josef Albers, Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky. During her studies
she worked on production patterns for manufacturing woven fabrics on an industrial
scale.
