A chronograph combines two time-keepingfunctions. It incorporates a device to measureintervals of time independent of the regulartime shown on the dial.Adjusting the time:1. As soon as small seconds hand S reaches position, pull crown out to position 3.The watch will stop.2. Turn crown to move hands and set time,making sure date changes at midnight, notnoon.3. Move hands slightly ahead of exact time,then slowly turn crown counterclockwise toalign minute hand with correct minute marker.4. Take an accurate time signal (from a radionews station, for example). When audibletone signals exact time, immediately pushcrown back in to position 1. Watch willrestart, now set to the exact time.Correcting time zone and date:1. Pull crown out to position 2.2. Turn crown to move hour hand H ahead orback after crossing into another zone, or to correctfor daylight savings/standard time change.3. To change date D, advance hour hand Hby two complete revolutions, otherwise datewill change at noon.These adjustments will not stop the watchand do not affect the time indicated by theminute and seconds hands.4.
