EPI 2017 - HISTOIRE - ANGLAIS - 4A 4C

My master lived on a plantation in the South.
When we arrived I saw a big house, a lot of trees, I saw a lot of Negroes, principally men, they worked in a
plantation, they picked cotton and they worked in sugar cane fields.
I was welcomed by my master in her house. I was used
as a servant for a little girl. She was six years old, her
name was Sarah. She was very bad, she whipped me for
fun. She whipped me sometimes because she was
hungry. I was eating once a day and she never handed
me food. I helped to set the table in the big dining room.
I stood behind the chair at the dinner.
The women mostly worked in the house. The men
worked in the fields. And I worked in the house with the
women. I was not chained like the men because of my youth.
Every morning at 8 o'clock I went to wake her up and at this
moment she has very irate to me.
On the journey I cleaned the windows and swept the floor.
I never went into books. I never went to school. I went to bed
at 0:00 and I got up at 5:00 this wasn‟t easy, after getting up I
sometimes cooked the breakfast, I never cooked the lunch
and I sometimes cooked the dinner. Sometimes the kids
master‟s went outside, I took advantage of this moment to
tidy the room of kids this funnier than to do the washing up,
setting the table or clearing the table. Their rooms were very
untidy. When the children came back from outside I was
forcing to do the washed the kids because there were very
dirty after back from outside. The master had three kids, one boy and two girls, the boy was 11 years old, and the
girl was 6 years old. I never saw again my family and my friends.
