La danse traditionnelle Antanosy<br />
Comme tous les tribus malgaches,<br />
les Antanosy ont eux aussi leur<br />
danse à eux, ces derniers vous<br />
invitent à essayer le Katrehaky.<br />
Chez le peuple Antanosy, le<br />
Katrehaky est indissociable aux<br />
cérémonies et rites traditionnels.<br />
Initialement, il s’agit d’une danse de<br />
possession pratiquée à l’intérieur des<br />
«Tranobe» ou cases royales. Cette<br />
danse traditionnelle est très singulière<br />
parce que les danseurs la pratiquent<br />
en courant. Les pieds des danseurs<br />
frappant le sol doivent répondre aux<br />
rythmes des percussions et des<br />
applaudissements.<br />

Pour ce qui concerne la tenue, les<br />
hommes portent des chemises cousues<br />
main, un petit chapeau de paille appelée<br />
« Tsi-mataho-birao ». Une appellation<br />
venant du fait que ceux-ci n’enlèvent<br />
jamais leur couvre-chef même en<br />
entrant dans un bureau. Ce chapeau,<br />
tressé avec des « mahampy »- des<br />
herbes qui poussent dans la région-,<br />
sont typiques des campagnes Antanosy.<br />

The Antanosy traditional dance<br />
Like all the Malagasy tribes, the<br />
Antanosy also have their own<br />
dance, the latter invite you to try<br />
the Katrehaky.<br />
Among the Antanosy people, the<br />
Katrehaky goes hand in hand with the<br />
traditional ceremonies and rites. At the<br />
beginning, it is a dance of possession<br />
practiced inside the “Tranobe” or<br />
royal slums. This traditional dance<br />
is exceptionnal because the dancers<br />
practice it while running. The feet of the<br />
dancers are hitting the floor and must<br />
respond to the rhythms of percussion<br />
and the sound of clapping.<br />

About the outfit, men wear hand-sewn<br />
shirts, a small straw hat called “Tsimataho-birao”.<br />
The name comes from<br />
the fact that they never remove their<br />
headwear even when entering an office.<br />
This hat, braided with “mahampy”<br />
- herbs that grow in the region - are<br />
typical of the Antanosy countryside.<br />
