De nieuwe afgezand uit Maranello mag zich de laatste telg noemen van een legendarisch ras, meer bepaald dat van de Ferrari’s met centraal geplaatste V8 motoren. La nouvelle enfant de Maranello peut se targuer d’être la dernière-née d’une lignée légendaire, plus précisément celle des Ferrari à moteur V8 central. Vlak voor een rondje circuit heb je steevast een big smile op je gezicht. Sourire garanti avant de partir à l’assaut du circuit. Het hart van de F8 Tributo is een verdere ontwikkeling van de 3902 cc grote V8 biturbo, waarmee Ferrari voor de 4 de maal na elkaar de prestigieuze award ‘Engine of the year’ in de wacht wist te slepen. Vandaar de typebenaming van Maranello’s laatste raspaard, ‘a tribute’ aan de achtcilinder van Ferrari. Deze motor ontwikkelt zo’n slordige 720 pk bij 8000 t/ min. Daardoor mag deze zich daardoor de krachtigste achtcilinder in serieproductie noemen die ‘Il Cavallino’ ooit heeft gekend. CIRCUITTEST Op het autodroom Ricardo Paletti nabij Parma wachtte een vloot F8 Tributo’s ons op. Het vrij technische parcours met een Le cœur de la F8 Tributo est une évolution du V8 biturbo de 3.902cc, grâce auquel Ferrari a décroché pour la 4 e fois consécutive le titre de « Engine of The Year ». Et voilà d’où vient le nom du nouveau pur-sang de Maranello : Tributo, un hommage au 8 cylindres Ferrari. Ce moteur développe la bagatelle de 720 chevaux à 8.000 tr/min, ce qui fait de lui le V8 le plus puissant de l’histoire du Cavallino.
