Per quanto riguarda i Refrattari, nel corso del 2006
la maggior parte degli sforzi sono stati volti
alla realizzazione di prototipi della nuova pressa
PHR2006, nata dalla collaborazione con Laeis.
La macchina è stata presentata in fiera al Tecnargilla,
che purtroppo non costituisce la vetrina più idonea
per il mercato dei refrattari, riscuotendo comunque
l’apprezzamento da parte della clientela.
Nel 2006 Sacmi Whiteware ha proseguito l’opera
di consolidamento nelle principali aree di business:
sanitari, stoviglieria, laterizi.
I due eventi fieristici Ceramitec e Tecnargilla hanno
caratterizzato l’anno, sia nella necessità di finalizzare
i progetti da esporre che nelle nuove opportunità
commerciali da essi scaturiti.
Il Ceramitec è stato prescelto quale fiera dedicata
alla stoviglieria e pertanto è stata presentata una linea
totalmente automatizzata per la produzione di piatti,
dalla nuova pressa a doppio pistone contrapposto
alla finitura, tramite giostre con utensili finitori
e pezzi movimentati da antropomorfi, carico
carri automatico con trasporto tramite veicoli LGV.

During the year another plant that uses the CONTINUA
process was started up and agreements for the supply
of this new technology were signed with two other Italian
companies.
Spring 2006 saw the creation of the “Special Pressings”
Business Unit”, which aims to extend the application
of hydraulic pressing to new market segments beyond
the traditional ones of refractories and aluminium.
The metal sheeting industry appears to offer good
prospects, with a PHP3590 already being installed in Italy
to produce heat exchanger panelling; the purchase
of a second press is currently in progress.
The year 2006 also saw reinforcement of the sales
coordination strategy that governs the Sacmi and Laeis
brands, a strategy that let the subsidiary achieve
excellent margins.
Moreover, centralisation of production has brought
the construction and assembly of the 2000-ton Laeis
presses to Imola.
Thanks to a positive working atmosphere and smooth
teamwork between Sacmi and Laeis technicians
the results have so far been excellent.
As regards refractories, in 2006 the bulk of resources
was directed at the completion of prototypes of the new
PHR2006 press, jointly developed with Laeis.
