La catena dei Pirenei si estende per oltre 400 chilometri di massicci montuosi,
di boschi lussureggianti, di cascate e di laghi di montagna che danno
vita a un paesaggio unico, tra il Mediterraneo e l’Atlantico. Una barriera
naturale che separa l’assolato e arido versante spagnolo dall’umido, boscoso
e ricco d’acqua versante francese. Vi trovano spazio vitale specie animali e
vegetali preziose e rare. Sulle vette rocciose e nei canyon profondi, solcati
dai torrenti, volano i rapaci. Abbarbicate sulle rocce dei burroni crescono
piante fl oreali che solo qui hanno il loro habitat naturale. La presenza umana
si inserisce nella vita di queste montagne, favorita dal clima mediterraneo, in
modo naturale. Lungo le stagioni, il lavoro dell’Uomo e i ritmi della Natura
si intrecciano, immersi in panorami immensi e sovrastati da un grandioso
dipinto naturale creato dal sole, dai venti e dalle nuvole che hanno dato ai
Pirenei l’appellativo di “montagne di luce”.
Th e Pyrenees range extends for more than 400 kilometres of high massifs,
lush forests, waterfalls, and mountain lakes that form a unique landscape
between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Th ey form a natural barrier
that separates the sunny, arid Spanish side from the French, which is humid,
heavily forested, and rich in water. Here thrive precious and rare species of
fauna and fl ora. On the rocky peaks and in the deep canyons, carved out over
time by torrents, raptors are a common sight. while the rocky ravines host
fl owering plants that grow only here. Th e human presence fi ts naturally into
the life of these mountains, favoured by the Mediterranean climate. Th roughout
the seasons, man’s work and nature’s rhythms intertwine, immersed in
vast panoramas and dominated by a huge, natural painting created by the
sun, the winds, and the clouds that have given the Pyrenees the appellation,
“mountains of light”.
Jürgen Eichinger
Nato nel 1961 a Rotthalmünster, ha iniziato a
girare i suoi primi cortometraggi durante gli
studi come geografo. Il suo primo fi lm per la
televisione è del 1985. Nello stesso anno ha
fondato un proprio studio di produzione con il
quale si dedica alla realizzazione e alla regia di
documentari. Dal 1989 è autore e regista per la
Bayerischer Rundfunk di fi lm a soggetto naturalistico
e culturale.
Born in 1961 in Rotthalmünster, he began making
short fi lms while studying geography. His
fi rst fi lm for television dates to 1985. In the same
year he founded his own production studio that
is dedicated to the creation of documentaries.
Since 1989 he has worked as an author and
director of fi lms about nature and culture for
Bayerischer Rundfunk.
