Santa (nella via a Lei dedicata) è ora trasformata in piccolo
museo e centro di documentazione cabriniana con centinaia
di pubblicazioni di vario genere e in diverse lingue, oltre ad importante materiale cabriniano portato
da diverse parti del mondo. Accanto alla casa, in Piazza XV Luglio, sorge il monumento dedicato “a
Santa Francesca Saverio Cabrini e all’emigrante”, opera dello scultore Enrico Manfrini.
Parrocchia dei santi antonio aBate e Francesca caBrini. La costruzione
della basilica cabriniana risale agli anni ’30 ed è anche dedicata al Patrono della comunità barasina,
Sant’Antonio Abate. Conserva in una moderna cappella, con pala del Galizzi e quadri del Secchi, la
preziosa reliquia dell’ulna della Santa in un artistico reliquiario dell’orafo Politi. Nella basilica cabriniana
degni di nota sono gli affreschi del pittore Arzuffi, le decorazioni del Terragni, le vetrate del Bonelli,
i mosaici del Bianchi, le tele del Morazzone, del Crespi, del Lanino, del Sidoli, della scuola del Luini
nel coro e il battistero ligneo del secolo XVI dove fu battezzata la santa. Le chiese di San Bartolomeo
(in Via San Bartolomeo), di San Rocco (in Via Cavour), di Santa Maria Regina (in Via Santa Maria
Regina) e del Lazzaretto (in Viale Trieste), completano il ciclo cabriniano di Sant’Angelo Lodigiano.
castiraGa vidardo
Parrocchia di san Michele arcanGelo. Francesca Cabrini insegnò per due anni nel
paese di Castiraga Vidardo, percorrendo a piedi ogni giorno il lungo viale, tuttora esistente, dove è
sorta una cappelletta con un bel mosaico che ricorda l’evento. La chiesa parrocchiale (in piazza Santa
Francesca Cabrini) custodisce la cappella con statua e artistico reliquiario barocco, oltre ad alcuni lavori
di ricamo qui eseguiti dalla Santa stessa.

Cabrini Documentation Centre. The house of the Saint
(which is in the street named after her) has nowadays
been turned into a small museum and documentation
centre with hundreds of publications of various kind and
in various languages, together with some very important material related to Mother Cabrini coming
from all over the world. Next to the house, in Piazza XV Luglio, there is a monument dedicated to
“saint Frances Xavier Cabrini and to the emigrant”, a work by sculptor Enrico Manfrini.
Parish ChurCh of saint aBBot anthony anD franCes CaBrini. The building
of the Cabrini Basilica dates back to the Thrities; it is also dedicated to the patron of the community
of Sant’Angelo Lodigiano, that is Abbot Saint Anthony. It has a modern chapel with an altar piece
by Galizzi and paintings by Secchi, the very valuable relic of the ulna of the Saint kept in an artistic
relic holder made by goldsmith Politi. Inside the Cabrini Basilica, worthy of mention are the frescoes
by painter Arzuffi, the decorations by Terragni, the windows by Bonelli, the mosaics by Bianchi, the
paintings of Morazzone, Crespi, Lanino, Sidoli, of Luini’s school in the choir and the wooden baptistry
where in the 16th century the Saint was baptized. The churches of Saint Bartholomew (in Via San
Bartolomeo), of Saint Rocco (in Via Cavour), of Saint Mary Queen (in Via Santa Maria Regina)
and of the Lazaret (in Viale Trieste), complete the Cabrini cycle in Sant’Angelo Lodigiano.

Parish ChurCh of arChanGeL saint MiChaeL. Frances Cabrini was a teacher for
two years in Castiraga Vidardo, walking everyday along the boulevard, which still exists, where has
been built a small chapel with a mosaic commemorating this event. Inside the parish church (in Saint
Frances Cabrini Square) is found a chapel where there are a statue and a Baroque artistic reliquary,
as well as some pieces of embroidery which were made by the Saint herself.

La piccola Cabrini era sovente ospite dello zio don Luigi Oidini, coadiutore nella parrocchia di
Livraga. La futura missionaria formava barchette di carta, nelle quali posava violette e le affidava alla
roggia Venere, che scorre tuttora di fianco alla casa parrocchiale. Erano, per Lei, le navi che portavano
le suore in Oriente a convertire gli infedeli. Una volta cadde in quelle acque e fu salvata un poco più
distante, dove ora sorge la “piazza Santa Francesca Saverio Cabrini”, di fronte al palazzo comunale. I
devoti cabriniani, soprattutto americani, ripetono qui il gioco delle barchette della piccola Cecchina.
Un prezioso dipinto la ricorda nella chiesa parrocchiale.

Museo caBriniano. II 14 novembre 1880 Francesca Cabrini fondò a Codogno l’Istituto
delle Missionarie del Sacro Cuore. Da qui partì per raggiungere New York nel 1889 in soccorso degli
emigranti italiani. Questa casa madre (nella via a Lei dedicata) racchiude ora la chiesa del Tabor, dove
è in venerazione la preziosa reliquia del cuore di Madre Cabrini e il museo cabriniano, con documentazione
e ricordi della sua incredibile attività nei due mondi.

San Biagio e nella chiesa della Madonna di Caravaggio, nella pala d’altare si ricordano un quadro e un
affresco dell’Arzuffi. Nella parrocchia a Lei dedicata si possono ammirare un artistico reliquiario del
1938, un altorilievo in legno e una statua in marmo, copia in dimensioni ridotte, di quella di Enrico
Tadolini posta nel 1947 nella basilica di San Pietro a Roma.

Young Mother Cabrini was often visiting her maternal uncle, Father Luigi Oidini, coadjutor in the
parish of Livraga. The future missionary used to create paper boats, on which she placed violets and
that she put after in the ditch Venere, which still flows next ti the parish house. To her, these were the
boats bringing the nuns to the East in order to convert those who did not believe in God. Once she
fell into the water and was saved a few metres away, where now can be found the square dedicated to
Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini. A valuable painting commemorates her in the parish Church.
CoDoGno
Museo CaBriniano. On 14th November 1880, Frances Cabrini founded in Codogno the Institute
of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. From here, she left in order to reach New York
in 1889 to rescue Italian emigrants. This house (in the street named after her) now includes the Tabor
church, where the valuable relic of the heart of the saint is venerated, and the Cabrini Museum, where
can be found documents and memories of her incredible activity in the two worlds.

Gio anD Parish ChurCh of saint franCes CaBrini. In the parish church of Saint
Biagio and in the church of the Madonna of Caravaggio, within the altar piece, worthy of mentionare
a painting and a fresco by Arzuffi. In the parish dedicated to her can be admired an artistic reliquary
of 1938, a wooden high relief and a marble statue, the copy in a smaller scale of that made in 1947
by Enrico Tadolini that is now in the Basilica of Saint Peter in Rome.
