In a young grapefruit orchard, soil moisture measurements were made under drip and<br />
microsprinkler irrigation systems with <strong>di</strong>fferent water amounts for single application (100-150-200<br />
m 3 /ha). Under drip irrigation in<strong>di</strong>vidual emitters were found to wet soil columns 100 to 300 cm in<br />
<strong>di</strong>ameter depen<strong>di</strong>ng on the soil depth (0-20 cm; 20-40 cm; 40-60 cm) considered. Under<br />
microsprinkler irrigation the microjets were found to wet almost the entire soil surface, highest the<br />
soil moisture values being found in the deeper soil layers. In both irrigation systems soil moisture<br />
increased as water amount for a single application increased.<br />

In un giovane impianto <strong>di</strong> pompelmo è stata determinata la <strong>di</strong>stribuzione dell’umi<strong>di</strong>tà del<br />
terreno in funzione <strong>di</strong> due sistemi <strong>di</strong> irrigazione localizzata (a goccia e con spruzzatori statici), e <strong>di</strong><br />
<strong>di</strong>fferenti volumi <strong>di</strong> adacquamento (100-150-200 m 3 /ha). E’ stato rilevato che la zona bagnata dai<br />
gocciolatori interessa una colonna <strong>di</strong> terreno <strong>di</strong> <strong>di</strong>ametro variabile tra 100 e 300 cm, in <strong>di</strong>pendenza<br />
della profon<strong>di</strong>tà del terreno stesso (0-20 cm; 20-40 cm; 40-60 cm), mentre col sistema <strong>di</strong> irrigazione<br />
con spruzzatori il terreno viene bagnato più uniformemente nel piano orizzontale, ma con valori <strong>di</strong><br />
umi<strong>di</strong>tà maggiori negli strati più profon<strong>di</strong>. Con entrambi i sistemi, è stata inoltre osservata una<br />
relazione, tuttavia non lineare, tra contenuto <strong>di</strong> umi<strong>di</strong>tà del terreno e volumi <strong>di</strong> acqua erogati.<br />

The results of a study on the main almond-growing areas of Sar<strong>di</strong>nia are reported. In each<br />
area the presence of highly promising in<strong>di</strong>genous varieties was observed. Seventy-seven local<br />
almond clones were isolated and tested for their agronomical and technological characteristics.<br />
Among these, fourteen clones are promising for the late or me<strong>di</strong>um-late blooming; seven have soft<br />
shells and eleven semi-hard shell, all of them have high kernel/stone ratio. The following<br />
characteristics for the other clones were evaluated: presence of a single kernel, form and<br />
appearance of the kernel, low percentage of aborted seeds and high yield. A clone was found to be<br />
suited as an ornamental plant for its big pink flowers. Four bitter almond clones are under evaluation<br />
