1. Safety InstructionsAny personnel operating this system must be fully qualified. If required, training for thisproduct can be provided by the manufacturer or supplier. Any personnel operating thissystem must have fully read and understand this manual. It should be documented orientation/ training should take place.Danger – Electrical CurrentThe system operates on electrical current. Noncompliance with the operating instructionsmay result in considerable damage to property, personal injuries or even fatal accidents.This unit should be completely disconnected from power before any work isundertaken. The main power switch and the fuse should be turned off / disconnectedand secured against accidental reconnection. If only a fuse is available for disconnection,the fuse must be clearly marked to avoid a third party from accidentally turning the fuseback on. VDE 0100 must be followed when any electrical work is performed on the unit.The unit must be supplied with an residual current device (RCD) with a 30mA rating. Thecontrol unit is connected to power and should not be opened. Only qualified electriciansshould conduct any work on this system. The definition of qualified electricians is definedin VDE 0105. All electrical cables must be in perfect operating order / condition. The systemshould not be placed into operation or immediately disconnected from its powersource in the case that the cables or the control unit show any signs of damage. All cablesshould be properly installed as to prevent a kink in the cable.Burn risk for hands and fingersThe system can reach high temperatures during operation.This alarm unit is a part of a complete system. Due to this please observe and complywith the installation and operational manual of the complete system and anyother components of the system. Prior to any installation, maintenance, inspectionor repair work on any of the system’s components all power to the system must bedisconnected and secured against accidental re-connection during the work.Proper operation of the system is only guaranteed by appropriate use of the system.Any technical limits of the system must not be exceeded.Using original KESSEL replacement parts assured proper operation of the system.Use of any other replacement parts could void the guarantee as well as any damageclaims caused by failure of the non-certified part. This unit must not be operated inareas designated as an explosion risk area. The plug and fuse of the system mustbe easily accessible in order to quickly disconnect the system from power if required.31
