all’efficienza complessiva dello stabilimento di
in aree strategiche.
Gire, Vice-Presidente GSC Trasformazione-Industrializzazione
“Oltre all’enorme risparmio ottenuto dalla realizzazione
degli stampi a iniezione attraverso la tecnologia
3D, abbiamo ridotto significativamente il tempo necessario
per la produzione, conseguendo ogni volta un
The French multinational company, Schneider Electric,
embodies the concept of “factory of the future” and records
90% savings in terms of time and costs by means
of 3D printing by Stratasys.
T
he French multinational company Schneider Electric
SE specializes internationally in electricity distribution,
automation and production of installation material
for energy management. With more than 160,000 employees,
the company has customers in more than 100
countries and helps them to manage energy and procedures
in a safe, reliable, efficient and sustainable way.
Having efficiency improvement as the basis of its value
proposal but also as a fundamental concept of its mission
and corporate culture, Schneider Electric examined
several methods to simplify production processes so as to
reach the desired objectives in terms of efficiency in the
short and long terms.
In order to contribute to the attainment of these objectives,
the company chose the 3D printing technology
provided by Stratasys for its productive activities in Grenoble,
France, after using it for several years for the prototyping
of new solutions.
In reality, this technology is so widespread that Schneider
Electric now resorts to a combination of 3D printing solutions
based on FDM and on Stratasys’s PolyJet materials
for industrialisation and prototypes for product development.
Numerous applications include injection printing
and equipping for assembly lines, whose design and production
is managed by an internal unit called Openlab.
This massive diffusion of 3D printing technology is also
integrated with the corporate vision of the birth of the
“factory of the future”.
Greater efficiency
The important cost saving and substantial improvement
of the workflow, obtained by means of the integration of
3D printing by Stratasys in the process, contributed to the
overall efficiency of the plant and to the reduction of time
to market in strategic areas.
