GIANNI MORAMARCO (Torino, 1957) GIANNI MORAMARCO (Torino, 1957) Mostre curate da Little Nemo Turin (Re)visited Little Nemo Art Gallery, Torino novembre - dicembre 2017 E’ un creativo a tutto tondo, la cui biografia artistica si sviluppa nell’arco tre lustri con un percorso eclettico e costante, ricco di successi creativi che vanno dall’architettura d’interni al fashion design ed alle arti visive. In anni recenti Moramarco ha sviluppato con successo il versante espositivo con presenza in numerose gallerie europee e manifestazioni artistiche d’alto livello. Le sue opere figurano in collezioni pubbliche e private. Nato a Torino , divide la sua attività tra architettura e produzione artistica. L’ispirazione di Gianni Moramarco sembra avere una vena “pop” che si tiene ben lontana da aridità concettuali. Talvolta surreale, talvolta molto concreto, i suoi quadri sono popolati da riferimenti chiari alla sua città d’origine i cui luoghi simbolici giocano con torri infuocate e forme addolcite ma deformate di valchirie spiate feticisticamente. Moramarco si muove all’interno di un meccanismo pittorico fatto di ironia, candore, artigianalità annullando le regole e i limiti della cornice dell’opera, invadendo i confini del quadro, come spinto da un impulso irrefrenabile a fugare la realtà reinterpretandola con il canone del suo linguaggio artistico. Le sue creazioni sono espressione dell’esuberanza dell’artista che agisce proiettando le proprie idiosincrasie sulla città, scomponendola nei suoi componenti basici per farla riemergere filtrata e adulterata da imprevedibili geometrie. Il “nuovo mondo” di Moramarco, si impone attraverso il colore che tiene separati ma al tempo stesso uniforma i pezzi del suo puzzle. In tempi più recenti i soggetti delle opere di Gianni Moramarco si spostano su temi onirico kabbalistici, giocando con i numeri e le pieghe delle sue scomposizioni pittoriche. Per la Galleria Little Nemo ha realizzato una serie di opere in cui i personaggi dell’immaginario supereroistico e delle fiabe interagiscono con i luoghi cardine della città: il Museo del Cinema, il Museo Egizio, il parco del Valentino… He is a well-rounded artist, whose biography has been developing for 15 years thanks to an eclectic and continuous path, full of success from interior design to fashion design and visual arts. His works are in collections both public and private. He was born in Turin, and divides his activity between architecture and artistic production. Moramarco’s inspiration seems having a “pop” line quite far from conceptual aridity. Sometimes surreal, sometimes very practical, his works are full of references from his native city whose symbolic places plays with fire tower and sweetened shapes but distorted by Valkyries. Moramarco moves in a pictorial mechanism full of irony, candour, craftsmanship, deleting rules and limits of works’ frames, invading the paint’s borders, as if he was pushed by a restless impulse. His creations are an expression of the artist’s exuberance. Moramarco’s “new world” imposes with the colors that separate but also homogenize his puzzle’s pieces. More recently, Moramarco’s characters moved on oneiric and cabbalistic themes, playing with numbers and folds of his pictorial decompositions. For Little Nemo Art Gallery, he realised several works where supeheroes and characters from the fairytales interact with the central places of the city such as the National Cinema Museum, the Egyptian Museum, the Valentino park… 86 MORAMARCO
