Richard Barnes Editor-In-Chief Reinventing the profession Knowing your product, customer relationship : it’s what differentiates professionals of the travel and tourism trades. This edition of IFTM Top Resa Map Pro is positioning itself not only as an international meeting place but also as the ultimate development of information or training. Participants in the Travel Agents’ Cup are something akin to a “shop window” of what the industry is striving to achieve: adding value through the thoughtful analysis of a traveller’s eventual wants, needs and preferences, and presenting them with a solution that they would have great trouble in achieving all on their own. Low cost is here. Collaborative is here. Online is here. So for an agency to survive, the only solution is to reinvent, ride the wave and add service. That’s only possible with the right information to hand. This trade event has been at the heart of that process, and we believe IFTM Daily also plays an essential role. For this, we thank all those who have participated in the 2015 publication, and look forward to seeing you again next time! IFTM Daily • Thursday 15 th October 2015
