Kroner
Omsetningen i kroner for perioden 2003-2007 er
inkludert i separate tabeller per ATC 3. nivå. Disse
tabellene er plassert i tilknytning til hver ATC
hovedgruppe og er angitt i apotekenes utsalgspris (AUP)
som er beregnet ut fra faktisk fakturert innkjøpspris fra
grossist (AIP). Frem til 2001 var omsetningen i AUP
beregnet ut fra maksimal utsalgspris godkjent av Statens
legemiddelverk, mens fra 2002 er omsetningen i AUP
beregnet ut fra faktisk fakturert innkjøpspris (AIP). Dette
innebærer at det til faktisk fakturert innkjøpspris (AIP) til
apotek og sykehus er lagt til normal apotekavanse, og
gebyrer samt merverdiavgift. Den faktiske utsalgsprisen
kan dermed være høyere enn det som blir angitt i boken.
På bakgrunn av at offentlig prisfastsettelse på reseptfrie
legemidler ble opphevet fra 1. januar 1995, er det
vanskelig å få et eksakt bilde av omsetningen av
reseptfrie legemidler i AUP. Nasjonalt folkehelseinstitutt
har ikke oversikt over utsalgsprisene for reseptfrie
legemidler i apotek og dagligvarehandelen.
Totalomsetningen i kroner beregnes ut fra rapporterte
innkjøpspriser fra grossist til apotek/dagligvarehandel
som omregnes til AUP ved å multiplisere med en faktor
på 2.1.
Tallene som gjelder omsetning i kroner må betraktes
som estimerte tall og er sannsynligvis minimumstall i
forhold til reelle omsetningstall i AUP.
Tall fra Reseptregisteret (www.reseptregisteret.no) vil gi
omsetning i faktisk utsalgspris fra apotek for alle
legemidler som er forskrevet på resept.
VURDERING OG ANVENDELSE AV
LEGEMIDDELSTATISTIKK
Legemiddelstatistikk basert på salgstall fra grossist er i
utgangspunktet en forholdsvis presis form for
helsestatistikk, og er et viktig hjelpemiddel til å foreta
medisinske og helseøkonomiske vurderinger og evt.
foreslå konkrete tiltak. Statistikken kan benyttes til å:
- kartlegge og vurdere forbruket og dermed terapi på
ulike nivåer og over tid
- måle effekten av kontrollpolitiske og informative tiltak
- definere behovet for videre undersøkelser av
forskrivningspraksis
Statistikken har imidlertid en del begrensninger som man
bør ta hensyn til:
- alle legemidler solgt fra grossister blir ikke
nødvendigvis brukt

Costs in Norwegian currency
Estimates of the sales in NOK for the period 2003-2007
are specified in separate tables for each ATC 3rd level.
These tables are included in connection with each ATC
main group and the costs are expressed in pharmacy
retail price (AUP). The calculation of the pharmacy retail
price is from 2002 based on the invoiced pharmacy
purchase price added the pharmacy margin including
fees and VAT. This implies that the actual pharmacy
retail price can be higher than the estimated AUP values.
From January 1995, there has been no official price
regulation of non-prescription medicines in Norway and it
is therefore difficult to estimate the sales in terms of
pharmacy retail prices. The Norwegian Institute of Public
Health has not an overview of actual retail prices for OTC
medicines. The turnover in retail prices is calculates by
using the purchase prices multiplied with a factor of 2.1.
It should be emphasised that the cost measured in
pharmacy retail prices represent estimates only and is
probably underestimated according to actual retail prices.
Figures retrieved from the Norwegian Prescription
Database (NorPD) (www.norpd.no) will give the real cost
in pharmacy retail prices (AUP) of prescription medicines
dispensed in a Norwegian pharmacy.
EVALUATION AND APPLICATION OF DRUG
STATISTICS BASED ON SALES FIGURES FROM
WHOLESALERS
Drug statistics from wholesalers are basically relatively
precise and offer important tools for medical and health
economic evaluations and for the suggestions of
appropriate regulatory changes, campaigns etc. The
statistics can be used to:
- survey consumption, and hence therapy, on different
levels and during time
- measure the effect of legislative changes and
informational efforts
- define needs for further investigation of drug therapy
traditions
The following limitations should however be kept in mind
when using the statistics:
- all medicaments sold from the wholesalers are not
necessarily consumed
