English summary
This publication gives technical and economic data referring to the calendar
year 1954 for industrial producers and for those public supply undertakings which
are owned by private firms. The data given for other public supply undertakings
refer to the financial year July 1953-June 1954. The statistics comprise all
electricity plants owned by government (central or local). Private electricity
plants with a capacity of less than 100 kW are excluded.
The tables 11 to 19 contain detailed information on the plants generating
or distributing electric energy. For the private undertakings, however, the
economic data are for confidential reasons only published in totals for the various
geographic areas.
In these tables the undertakings are classified according to the main purpose
of their activity in (a) public supply undertakings and (b) industrial producers.
Within these two main categories the undertakings are classified according to
ownership and geographic area.
In addition to the tables 11 to 19, which give details on each plant, the
publication also contains the survey tables 1 to 9.
English translation of text columns and headings in tables 11 to 19 are
given on page 159 and 160.
