THE COEXISTENCE OF RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS AND AMIOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS 221 The motor neuron disorder described in this case is not an extra-articular complication of rheumatoid arthritis, as a consequence of vasculitis, but a disease who developed indipendently, since we know that no protective effect exists it a neurologic deficit develops in a patient already suffering from RA.
