ABSTRACT<br />

The diagnosis in dentistry is decisive factor in the correction of the deviations of the<br />

dental occlusion. The malocclusion can grow with the growth craniofacial. The<br />

retention of the upper canine teeth is frequently discussed by surgeons dentists in<br />

the hour of deciding which the best treatment form. The main factor of the situation is<br />

their causes and consequences for the patient. The upper canine teeth and lower are<br />

key elements in the normality of the system stomatognathic , for play important action<br />

in the functional balance and in the facial aesthetics. The upper canine teeth, in some<br />

cases, they can be kept in the jawbone and to alter that balance. The location of the<br />

canine tooth impacted of being accomplished through clinical exams and<br />

radiographic, and it is fundamental for a correct planning and treatment to be<br />

accomplished. The precocious diagnosis can avoid that the retention of the canine<br />

teeth causes upset to the patient as, disturbances mechanical, infectious and<br />

neoplastic. In the prognostic he/she is considered the location of the canine teeth in<br />

relation to the adjacent teeth, his/her height in the alveolar process, his/her inclination<br />

and also the possibility not to move orthodontic. We will demonstrate a clinical case<br />

of irruption ectopic of a upper canine tooth in the area of upper incisor provoking the<br />

reabsorption root of this and the therapeutics used for the accomplishment of the<br />

traction.<br />
