Abstract<br />

The present work aimed to <strong>de</strong>velop new ternary nanocomposites consisting of carbon<br />

nanotubes, silver nanoparticles and polyaniline obtained in one pot synthesis. In this<br />

procedure, AgNO3 is the oxidizing agent for the polyaniline formation, is therefore reduced to<br />

metallic nanoparticulate silver. Thus, polyaniline and silver nanoparticles were synthesized<br />

simultaneously, which allows a very intimate contact between components.<br />

Several samples were synthesized with variation in reagent concentration (aniline,<br />

AgNO3 and HNO3). Samples were characterized by x-ray diffraction, Raman and infrared<br />

spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltametry and transmission electron<br />

microscopy. The results indicated the formation of nanocomposites with different<br />

morphologies and characteristics which were found to be <strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nt on synthesis conditions<br />

in summary.<br />
