ABracell assinou, com a SEMA<br />
(Secretaria de Meio Ambiente da<br />
Bahia), um termo de cooperação<br />
mútua para executar ações<br />
conjuntas voltadas à proteção da<br />
biodiversidade em UCs (Unidades<br />
de Conservação) de Mata Atlântica no<br />
estado, como os Cânions do Subaé e a bacia<br />
do rio Subaúma. O acordo foi assinado na<br />
sede da SEMA, por Márcia Telles, secretária<br />
da pasta, e Guilherme Araújo, diretor-geral<br />
da Bracell Bahia. A iniciativa da companhia<br />
está alinhada com sua estratégia de negócio,<br />
que tem como um de seus objetivos centrais<br />
reforçar a importância das boas práticas para a<br />
proteção da biodiversidade.<br />
O compromisso é o de atuar em parcerias<br />
que contribuam para a conservação e a manutenção<br />
das UCs e salvaguardem o patrimônio<br />
natural, protegendo espécies endêmicas, raras<br />
e ameaçadas de extinção da fauna e da flora,<br />
e os recursos hídricos, garantidos pelas formações<br />
florestais. O acordo tem validade inicial<br />
de 5 anos e poderá ser prorrogado.<br />

joint actions to protect the<br />
biodiversity of Atlantic Forest<br />
Conservation Units (CUs) in<br />
the State, such as the Subaé Canyons and<br />
the Subaúma River Basin, with the State of<br />
Bahia Environment Secretariat (Sema). The<br />
agreement was signed on Wednesday, the<br />
fourth of the month, at the Sema headquarters,<br />
by Márcia Telles, State Secretary, and<br />
Guilherme Araújo, Managing Director of<br />
Bracell Bahia. The Company’s initiative is<br />
aligned with its business strategy, which has<br />
as one of its central objectives to reinforce<br />
the importance of good practices for protecting<br />
biodiversity.<br />
The commitment is to act in partnerships<br />
that contribute to the conservation<br />
and maintenance of CUs and safeguard the<br />
natural heritage, protecting endemic, rare,<br />
and endangered species of fauna and flora,<br />
and water resources, guaranteed by forest<br />
formations. The agreement is valid for 5<br />
years and may be extended.<br />
