In the Russian-Romanian Dictionary of phraseological units the
author translated Russian phrases into Romanian, which are accompanied
by some grammatical phonetic references. It’s worth
using it by both spec ialists and simple speakers.
Gheorghe Popa’s importance as a scientist is not in the big
number of thick books. He is at least for a small audience (listeners
and readers) a linguist that works hard with other people. And
if „a man of science thinks how best to make the others think,
speaks in order to make the others speak, works to make the others
work” (S. Mehedinti), then we may assert that professor
Gheorghe Popa reached the highest level of Human Existence 18 .

As a r ule, the path of somebody’s biography, even if it goes in
a zigzag line, puts forward different states of the same personality,
explaining them, motivating them and classifying them at the
same time. Besides the diversity of his features as being a husband
and a father, a Godchild and a Godfather, a scientist and a
scientific advisor, a c olleague and the chief of the Philology
Chair, a disc iplinarian and a counselor, professor Gheorghe Popa
has one more distinct feature of his character (we’ll dare to quote
him): „everybody has to have his „roof” and be a person of
„measure”, not of „half measures”.
