The Österlen steam train
Since 1971, the locomotive, rolling stock, rails and
station buildings have all been maintained, managed
and manned by the Skånska Järnvägar Society.
The Brösarp to St Olof line winds through some of
southeast Skåne’s most attractive countryside
and passengers are treated to views across the
Baltic and rolling hills as well as journeys through
cuttings and deep forests.
Passengers can sit in the old coaches or enjoy a
meal in the restaurant car, many take the return trip
and climb on board in Brösarp. The station is just to
the north of the village off road 19 which runs from
Ystad to Kristianstad. St Olof Station is in the heart
of the village and can be reached from Road 19 at
Fågeltofta or Road 9 from Rörum. The train also
stops at Vitaby and Ravlundabro.
