SLEEPWELL | NEWS 50
FULL (54 “X 75”)
It is sometimes and still
called as a double bed; a full-size
bed is 53-54 inches wide and
only 15 inches wider than a
twin size (or stand-alone). For a
couple sharing the bed, it offers
each partner just 27 inches of
personal space — or crib width.
Both twin and full sizes are approximately
75 inches long and
this size may be too short for
some adults. For that reason, full
size beds are perfect for growing
children, singles and narrower
places, and working people.
Full-size beds fit easily into
standard bedrooms and guest
rooms. A full-size bed can be an
excellent temporary bed choice
at affordable prices. While offering
more spacious sleep than
a twin bed, full-size beds ease
young adults to move from home
to their first apartments.
TWIN XL (39 “X 80”)
The Twin XL bed is ideal for tall
people who need more legroom
in bed. It is the same length as a
King or Queen bed. It measures
39 inches x 80 inches and has
the same width as a standard
twin, of which overall length
is 80 inches and which has an
extra 5 inches. Twin XL beds,
having narrow dimensions and
extended lengths, fit into smaller
spaces, and save more space
than standard twins.
TWIN (38” X 75”)
Twin beds are the smallest
standard bed size excluding crib
beds. It measures 38” x 75” and
is designed for single sleepers.
Twin-size beds are perfect for
nurseries, small bedrooms and
guest rooms. It is easy to carry
from room to room and they offer
enough space for small children.
Twin beds and beddings are
also typically the least expensive
of all standard sizes.
CRIB/ BABY (27” X 52”)
The crib or baby bed is at the
perfect sizes as your baby’s
first bed. These sizes are widely
accepted as the standard across
the USA and therefore this size
will fit any standard cot you
purchase for the newcomer. In
general, your baby’s crib and
bed should be fairly firm. Even if
soft mattresses and pillowcases
may seem like a good choice for
parents, the babies need a firm
base because when they lie on
their stomach and they’re upside
down, they can’t get their faces
out of the bed. Press the mattress
down and see how easily
your hand sinks. More resistance
means tighter bed. Make sure
the mattress you choose, whether
it is spring or sponge, is both
beautiful and sound!
