Dance has a great transformative effect
Ayşe Kırımlı, General Manager of the Community Volunteers
Foundation (TOG), pointed out that the transformative effect
of dance and art is great and said, “The first of this effect is selfconfidence.
Proving to themselves that they can do something
new enables individuals to be more courageous and determined
in the new steps they take in their lives. As TOG, we have
been working for 22 years to empower young people and help
them get one step closer to their future dreams. Now, with the
project we started with URBAN Care, we provide scholarship
support to young people studying in the dance department of
fine arts, we also share their dreams of studying abroad, and
we aim to contribute to equal opportunities in dance. We will
also empower young people affected by the earthquake with
the unifying and transformative power of dance. Young people
benefiting from the project will support their peers to become
stronger and reveal their potential by conducting workshops in
this field in our 10 Support Centers located in 5 cities in the
disaster area. We are happy about this valuable collaboration
with URBAN Care, which believes in the potential of young
people.”

Chairman Beyhan Murphy also evaluated the project with the
following words, “This is the first time I see such comprehensive
and generous support being given to the dance field from the
private sector. This is the first time that such a systematic
support platform has been implemented in terms of investing
in the future and educational opportunities. In that respect, I
would like to congratulate URBAN Care. If young people with
the right capacity are found, the returns can be very productive
in the long run. A quality education opportunity allows us to
reach qualified and healthy staff both on and behind the stage.
That’s why the value of this project doubles for me.”

güçlenmesi ve gelecek hayallerine bir adım daha yaklaşmalarına
destek olmak için çalışıyoruz. Şimdi URBAN Care ile
başlattığımız proje ile güzel sanatların dans bölümünde okuyan
gençlere hem burs desteği sağlıyoruz hem de onların yurtdışı
eğitim hayallerine ortak oluyoruz ve dansta fırsat eşitliğine
de katkı sağlamayı hedefliyoruz. Ayrıca dansın birleştirici
ve dönüştürücü gücüyle depremden etkilenen gençleri de
güçlendireceğiz. Projeden yararlanan gençler, afet bölgesindeki
5 şehirde bulunan 10 Destek Merkezimizde akranlarına bu
alanda atölyeler gerçekleştirerek onların da güçlenmesine ve
potansiyellerini ortaya çıkarmalarına destek olacak. Gençlerin
potansiyeline inanan URBAN Care ile gerçekleştirdiğimiz bu
değerli iş birliğinden dolayı mutluluk duyuyoruz” diye konuştu.

Beyhan Murphy de projeyi şu sözlerle değerlendirdi: “Özel
sektörden, ilk defa dans alanına bu kadar kapsamlı ve cömert
bir desteğin verildiğini görüyorum. Geleceğe yatırım yapmak ve
eğitim fırsatı açısından ilk defa bu kadar sistematik bir destek
platformu hayata geçiyor. O açıdan URBAN Care’i kutlamak
isterim. Doğru kapasitede gençler bulunursa uzun vadede geri
dönüşü çok verimli olabilir. Kaliteli bir eğitim imkânı hem sahne
üstünde hem de sahne gerisinde nitelikli ve sağlıklı kadrolara
ulaşmamızı sağlar. O yüzden bu projenin değeri benim için iki
misli artıyor.”
