Report on the Activities of MISTiA in 2007
MISTiA is largely focused on supporting enterprise. In 2007, MISTiA experts: provided free consulting and information as a part
of activity of the Consulting Centers based in Krakow and Tarnów, delivered training under the following projects: „Academy of
Management:, „Microenterprise Center”, “My Business – Supporting Development of Enterprise in Małopolska”. MISTiA experts
took part in realization of the “Enterprising Exchange Academy (EEA GROW)” project directed at teachers and a group of
pupils of Malopolska secondary schools.
Project “We Can Do More – Partnership For Social Cooperatives” as a part of the PIW EQUAL contributed for extending the
MISTiA offer for action for supporting social enterprises (Social Cooperatives) and for the sector determined as the social
economy. One of purposes of the project is to create the model of professional reintegration of the persons threatened with
public ruling out. Thanks to the project the methodology of the work with persons for which the return for the labour market is
very difficult for many reasons (the long-term unemployment, disability) was created and tested. Organising oneself as part of
social enterprises turned out for these persons to be the effective method for the return to the professional and social activity
In 2007, MISTiA took part in a variety of projects and programmes in support for development of civic society and NGOs.
Let us name just a few of the project that we participated in: a national campaign Transparent Poland, organized with a view
to promote integrity, honesty and effectiveness in local government in order to improve quality of public life and stimulate civil
activity, we also organized and delivered seminars as a part of the projects “The Malopolska Forum of Culture”, “Metropolitan
Network” and “How to counter violence in the family – ideas and experiences”.
For many years, the Institute has been supporting development of local democracy in the CEE countries. In 2007, we organised
a study visits of Ukrainian and Byelorussian representatives of NGO in a branch office in Tarnów. We organised training and
study visits as a part of a project financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs “I’m a Citizen – formation of a civic attitudes amongst
young people in the Ukraine” and “Integration – the European direction for Development of Ukraine”.
In total, in 2007 MISTiA participated in the implementation of 20 projects.
The activity of the Forums
Forums formed of local government employees, representatives of municipalities and counties of the Małopolska, they broad-
en knowledge and improve professional skills as well as integrate professional groups and create opportunities for mutual
support and exchange of experience.
In 2007, 1,266 persons took part in the works of the 13 Forums operating at the MISTiA in Krakow.
