the vaccine, it is predicted that the virus can be fought more
effectively. The ability to remodel the local vaccine very
quickly in case of mutation is also seen as an important step
40 scientists came together
The domestic vaccine project carried out by Turkish
scientists, which started operating under the Nanografi Nano
Teknoloji A.Ş. within METU Technopolis, is also an indicator
of the advanced R&D experience of our country. The local
vaccine project, which has been developed by a team that
has managed to obtain many pioneering nanotechnology
product patents, brought together 40 Turkish scientists and
generated a great scientific study ground.
Can be transported and stored at room
temperature
Intranasal vaccine, an innovative vaccine type, was
designed as protein-based, unlike RNA and inactive vaccine
technology. It does not contain a virus or a virus-like particle.
In addition, animal experiments have been completed.
Informing about the intranasal vaccine, Dr. Mehmet
Ceyhan, Head of Pediatric Infectious Diseases Department,
Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine said, “The vaccine
can be transported and stored at room temperature. Since
it is administered through the nose, it can prevent the
virus from entering the body directly. Other vaccines have
no effect until they come face-to-face with blood cells.
Therefore, it also prevents vaccinated people from taking
the virus and transmitting it to others. This has not been
achieved with vaccines produced so far. It is very easy to
apply, the injector does not enter. The vaccine reduces its
instability.”
Ahlatcı Holding will leave all income of the vaccine
to the state
Ahmet Ahlatcı, Chairman of Nanografi Nano Teknoloji A.Ş.
of Ahlatcı Holding, which developed the vaccine, said, “We
brought together 40 scientists who are experts in their
field under the roof of Nanografi in order to do our part in
combating the coronavirus epidemic. We see the domestic
vaccine study as a duty for our country. With this study, we
aim to show the world what our country’s scientists can do.
We will start human trials of the vaccine in April. This year,
we will meet all the needs of our country by producing 25
million doses per month and 300 million doses per year.”
Hastalıkları Bilim Dalı Başkanı Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ceyhan,
şunları söylüyor: “Aşı oda sıcaklığında taşınabiliyor ve
saklanabiliyor. Burundan verildiği için virüsün direkt vücuda
girmesini engelleyebiliyor. Diğer aşıların, kan hücreleriyle
karşı karşıya gelene kadar hiçbir etkisi yok. Dolayısıyla
aşılı kişilerin virüsü alıp başkalarına bulaştırmasını da
engelliyor.
Aşıyı geliştirmekte olan Nanografi Nano Teknoloji A.Ş.’yi
bünyesinde barındıran Ahlatcı Holding’in Yönetim Kurulu
devam etti.
Turkey’s first and the largest volume of investment
in nanotechnology
Ahmet Ahlatcı added further, “Grafen Seri Üretim Tesisi
(Graphene Serial Production Facility) will be the first in
Turkey, and be nanotechnology investment with largest
volume in the region. With this investment, we will increase
the annual graphene production to over 100 tons. This
production line is a user-friendly model that solves the
difficulties of graphene production.”
