Francesc Pausas Coll blev uddannet på skolen for<br />
"Bellas Artes" i Barcelona. Senere tog han til Madrid<br />
og blev elev af den berømte spanske maler Joaquin<br />
Sorolla (1863-1923). I 1906 flyttede han til Nordamerika,<br />
hvor han blev boende i mange år. I USA, Cuba<br />
og Panama malede han portrætter af flere kendte personer.<br />
Bl.a. et portræt af en af arkitekterne bag "The<br />
Capitol" i Washington, Thomas Ustick Walter. Coll<br />
har udstillet på the Academy of Fine Arts i New York,<br />
og udstillede også i Spanien efter at han i 1929 flyttede<br />
tilbage til sit hjemland. Ifølge oplysninger er han repræsenteret<br />
på Museum de Arte Moderno i Barcelona.<br />

Francesc Pausas Coll was educated at the School of Fine<br />
Arts in Barcelona. After graduating he went to<br />
Madrid where he studied under the famous Spanish<br />
painter, Joaquin Sorolla. In 1906 he left for the USA<br />
where he lived for many years. In the US, Cuba and<br />
Panama he painted portraits of several famous people,<br />
among others the architect of the cupola of The Capitol<br />
in Washington, Thomas Ustick Walter. He exhibited at<br />
the Academy of Fine Arts in New York. In Havana,<br />
Cuba, he painted numerous portraits of representatives<br />
of Cuban high society, including presidents of the Republic.<br />
In 1929 he returned to Barcelona for the World<br />
Fair, and in the following years he held various exhibitions<br />
there. Some of his works are to be found in the<br />
Museum of Modern Art of Barcelona.<br />
