Impact-protection seminar a complete success
On April 02, 2009 the BSW Company, based in Bad Berleburg and manufacturers of sport flooring and impact-protection
floor surfaces, staged its first ever seminar concerned with sport and safety floor coverings, at the Congress Hotel Europe in
Stuttgart. More than 20 participants, employees of urban administration or architecture offices in the Stuttgart region, took
part and learned more about the latest developments in synthetic flooring for sport and leisure pastimes.
At the first event of this kind organised by BSW, participants
were provided first and foremost with information about the
peculiarities of synthetic floor coverings, in order to improve their
planning reliability and to provide them with increased know-how
for their daily work. Along with Achim Höse, sales and distribution
manager for seamless floor coverings, and Christoph Weyandt,
sales and distribution moulded parts, both from the BSW Company,
speakers also included Christoph Mayer-Klenk, Managing
Director of Sandmaster GmbH and Udo Rößler Sales Manager from
Süddeutschland Desso Sports Systems.
Jürgen Färber, Managing Director of the Spiel-Sport-Freizeit Company
and trade representative of BSW, welcomed the guests and
complimented BSW on its commitment which, based on the company's
many years’ experience with sport and leisure products of
their Regupol material, promised an interesting and informative seminar.
The start was made by Christoph Weyandt with a comprehensive
overview of technical details and properties of impact-protection tiles
and moulded parts. In a question-and-answer session following
his presentation, the interested audience were given further details
about laying and disposal of the floor surfacing as well the material
properties.
In the following presentation by Achim Höse, participants were informed
about Playfix seamless impact protection floorings manufactured
by BSW. Which substrates are required, how installation
is carried out, which special points must be observed and in which
price segment this kind of synthetic floor coverings is positioned,
were all questions which Achim Höse was happy to answer.
In a following demonstration on the hotel's own terrace, many
points raised by participants regarding the processing and material
properties of the floorings were clearly explained. An employee of
the BSW Company laid a small area of Playfix flooring and de-
monstrated to the seminar participants the rapid installation of
this surface.
How can sport and leisure activity floorings be cleaned ? This
question was answered by Christoph Mayer-Klenk, Managing
Director of the company Sandmaster GmbH. As professional
service provider for the cleaning of sport and leisure floor coverings
he explained how clearly cleaning of these surfaces is linked to their
durability. Which points must be observed in the care and maintenance
of these floorings and which cleaning methods can be used,
were explained in detail.
Elastic layers for athletic tracks, playing fields and synthetic turf
were the subject of the fourth presentation which was also made by
Achim Höse. Here also, information required by decision-makers
was provided.
Udo Rößler from the Desso Sports Systems Company, market leaders
in the manufacture of synthetic turf systems, then spoke about
the latest developments in this field. Technical values, functional
sport criteria, properties and requirements of a synthetic turf
surface were explained.
Response to this seminar was positive throughout. The participants congratulated
the organisers on the pleasant atmosphere, information content
and usefulness of the information provided in daily practical work.
One of the guests, Peter Grieser, independent garden and landscape architect
from Schwäbisch-Gmünd, emphasised how important this kind
of event is for planners like himself as requirements change very quickly,
especially in the field of playground construction. He complimented the
organisers on the combination of topics offered in the seminar which
were target-oriented and exactly fulfilled his needs. Following this success
in Stuttgart, the BSW Company intends holding further seminars
of this kind in other regions of Germany.
