REPORT
Celebrities have an
impact on the classroom
In between two teaching units, celebrities
will have quite an impact on the classroom:
There will be live gigs from shooting star
Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, the new pop stars
Queensberry, Malte, famous from the Tigerenten-Club,
the break-dance world champions
Flying Steps and the BMX acrobats Bikemania
X are guaranteed to get the young
audience going.
"I think it is important, that children and
young adults exercise. Healthy people who
feel good in their bodies, they radiate that”,
says Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht, who exercises
on a regular basis for his stage shows and
films.
Another highlight of the event in the SAP
ARENA is the honouring of the class that
has submitted the best suggestion to the Fit
Kids competition on the topic of health and
nutrition. The winning class will be celebrated
on stage and will receive a class outing
to the new musical “Der Kleine Medicus”
in Stuttgart or Frankfurt as their prize.
The sports region Rhein-Neckar
can make a difference
The creator of “Fit Kids for tomorrow” is the
Sportregion Rhein-Neckar under the
sponsorship of Kurt Beck, Premier of the
state Rheinland Pfalz, Gunther H. Oettinger,
Premier of the state Baden-Württemberg
as well as Roland Koch, Premier of the
state of Hesse. “In Germany, today every
sixth child is overweight. Children are not
as active as they used to be and they sit at
the computer and in front of the TV for an
average of five hours a day”, the Premiers
say. “We want to work together to counteract
this alarming development and try and
persuade the children to think differently.
“Fit Kids for tomorrow!" is an exemplary
60
campaign, which sends
transnational signals and is
sure to get to the ball rolling”.
“Fit Kids for tomorrow!” is supported by
many businesses in the metropolitan region
Rhein-Neckar, led by BASF SE and SAP AG.
“We are proud that “Fit Kids for tomorrow!”
to ensure a long-term improvement
in the medical condition of children. In the
process “Fit Kids for tomorrow!” want to
keep their charges enthusiastic about a healthy
and active life-style beyond the specific
campaigns, in the best case scenario for
their entire life.
