der möglichen Projektideen reicht
von der Tanzgruppe im Jugendzentrum,
der Internetplattform zum
Thema Integration bis hin zum
neuen Umweltschutzprojekt. Die besten
Ideen unterstützt die Deutsche
Telekom dieses Jahr wieder mit insgesamt
100.000 Euro.
Die Bonner Chancen. Eine Erfolgsgeschichte:
Vor vier Jahren hat die
Deutsche Telekom den Wettbewerb
Bonner Chancen ins Leben gerufen,
um die Bildungs- und Freizeitangebote
für die jüngsten Bewohner in der
Stadt zu verbessern. Seitdem werden
Jahr für Jahr die besten Vorschläge
ausgewählt, prämiert und zusammen
mit den Siegerschulen umgesetzt.
Wie erfolgreich die Bonner Chancen
seit ihrer ersten Ausschreibung sind,
zeigt ein Blick auf die Historie des
Wettbewerbs. 2005 konnten renovierungsbedürftige
Spielplätze zu attraktiven
Anlagen umgebaut werden.
2006 wurden in Kindergärten die
Lern- und Spielbedingungen verbessert.
Im darauf folgenden Jahr
standen die Bonner Grund- und
Förderschulen im Mittelpunkt des
Wettbewerbs, auch hier freuten sich
die Siegerschulen über verbesserte
Lehr- und Lernbedingungen. Durch
die Bonner Chancen 2008 wurden in
diesem Jahr weitere Schulen bei der
Umsetzung ihrer Projekte zum aktiven
Klimaschutz bzw. zur Verbesserung
des Miteinanders in der Schule
unterstützt. Mit der Ausschreibung
2009 soll die Erfolgsgeschichte fortgeschrieben
werden. Dass der Wettbewerb
in seinem fünften Jahr auf die
Förderung spielerischen Lernens
zielt, ist kein Zufall. Birgit Klesper,
Leiterin Corporate Responsibility
Deutsche Telekom AG, erläutert:
„Schlüsselqualifikationen erwerben
Kinder und Jugendliche am einfachsten
in der Gruppe. Genau hier möchten
wir mit den Bonner Chancen
ansetzen: Die Förderung eines kreativen
Miteinanders, durch das Kinder
spielerisch und ungezwungen voneinander
und miteinander für die
Zukunft lernen liegt uns besonders
am Herzen“.
In terms of experience this means an
improved interpersonal climate at the Catholic
Secondary School.
“Lümmelnetz (hammock climbing frame)
is the official German term for the climbing
apparatus. And this was the best solution,
given that the pupils at Sankt-Hedwig
High School had wanted the equipment
to “chill out” on. In addition, a
motor track, a wobbly bridge and other
items of equipment were also installed on
the lawn of the small school playground
for the fifth and sixth grades. Hanging
climbing bars are to follow. “Children
should be able to give some indication of
what a nice playground is and should be
able to draw what they would like implemented”,
explained Beate Eisenberg, the
school’s Social Worker. The children came
upon the idea themselves and thought
that they would fight less if they had more
opportunities to play - and that prompted
the suggestions for an adventure playground.
“The ideas were so good that
Deutsche Telekom couldn’t do anything
other than award them it this prize,” said
Head Teacher Hubert Lödorf at the opening.
With the promotional competition is the
fourth time in a row that Deutsche Telekom
has been specifically involved in the
educational and recreational options for
children and teenagers in Bonn. Under the
motto “Good Climate at our School”, all
children in grades five to eight were invited
to put forward their ideas for active climate
protection or, alternatively, the improvement
of interpersonal climate. Other
winners were the Bertolt-Brecht Gesamtschule
(comprehensive school), the Beuel
Comprehensive School, the Am Römerkastell
Community Secondary School as well
as Gottfried-Kinkel Secondary School.
Bonner Chancen 2009
In 2009 the Bonner Chancen promotional
competition is aimed at all children and
teenagers aged from 6 to 14 attending a
school or youth club/centre or recreation
centre in Bonn. This is the fifth time Deutsche
Telekom is asking them to come up
with creative project ideas. The project office
accepted applications between 13 December
2008 and 28 February 2009.
Bonner Chancen 2009. “We are learning
through play” is the motto being used for
the next competition round. “Playful lear-
ning” means that inquisitive children and
teenagers with natural motivation, particularly
in group play, can acquire important
qualifications for life. Learning outside
everyday day school lessons - without
the pressure of grades and, on the other
side, established lesson formats - provides
children and teenagers with a sense of
achievement and success which they advance
further in their development. The
diversity of possible project ideas ranges
from the dancing group in the youth centre,
the internet platform for the topic of
integration, to the new environment protection
project. This year Deutsche Telekom
is yet again supporting the best ideas
with about 100,000 Euros.
Opportunities in Bonn (Bonner Chancen).
A success story: Four years ago Deutsche
Telekom launched the competition Bonner
Chancen to improve the educational and
recreational opportunities for the town’s
youngest inhabitants. Since then, year after
year, the best suggestions have been
chosen, awarded and implemented together
with the winning schools. By looking
at the history of the competition you can
see how successful the Bonner Chancen
competitions have been since its first inception.
In 2005 play areas in need of renovation
were renovated into attractive
grounds. In 2006 the educational and
play conditions were improved in nurseries.
The following year the primary
schools and special needs schools in Bonn
became the focal point of the competition;
the winning schools were also happy with
the improved teaching and learning conditions.
Thanks to Bonner Chancen 2008,
that year other schools were supported in
implementing their projects for active climate
protection or for the improvement in
cooperation in the school. The success
story shall continue with 2009’s competition.
The fact that the competition is aiming
for the promotion of playful learning
in its fifth year is no coincidence. Birgit
Klesper, Manageress of Corporate Responsibility
at Deutsche Telekom AG, comments
that:
“Children and teenagers acquire key skills
easiest in the group. That’s exactly why we
would like to prepare for the Bonner Chancen:
The promotion of creative cooperation,
whereby children learn through play
and unforced from each other for the future,
is our main concern”.
