Weil wir wissen, dass Du recht hast.Du weißt genau, wovon Du sprichst. Mit neun Jahren rufst Du dieUmweltinitiative „Plant-for-the-Planet ‒ Stop talking. Start planting“ insLeben. Das beeindruckt uns tief. Du führst uns vor Augen: Wir könnenetwas bewegen!Stell’ Dir vor: Du erinnerst uns an uns. An das, was wir verändernwollten. Wie wir gegen den Ausbau von Flughäfen auf die Straße gingen,bevor wir als Vielflieger landeten. Was davon geblieben ist? Danke, dassDu fragst ‒ und uns in Frage stellst.Deine Idee, was wir, die wirMenschen zusammenbringen,jetzt tun können, lege ich allenLesern ans Herz: Auf jeder Veranstaltungein Kind sprechenlassen, das die Teilnehmer bittet,Bäume zu pflanzen. Wennjeder von uns 150 Bäume pflanzte,wäre das mit 1.000 MilliardenBäumen ein gigantischer CO2-Speicher.Denk’ daran, Du und DeineGeneration, Ihr habt ein unschlagbaresdemografischesArgument: Ihr seid wenige! Wirmüssen Euch zuhören, weil wirwollen, dass Ihr für uns arbeitet.Und mit uns. Becausewe know that you are right.You know exactly what you are talking about. At the age of nine youfounded the environment initiative “Plant-for-the-Planet ‒ Stop talking.Start planting”. We are deeply impressed. You made us aware that we canmove something!Just imagine: Your remind us of ourselves. Of what we wanted tochange. How we protested against expanding airports ‒ before ending upas frequent flyers. So what became of all that? Thanks for asking ‒ and forcalling us into question.I appeal to all readers to think of your idea of what we, who bring peopletogether, can do: Let a child speak at every event and ask delegates to planttrees. If everyone of us were to plant 150 trees, we would have a total of1,000 billion trees to remove and store a massive amount of carbon dioxide.Please remember, you and your generation, you have an unbeatable demographicargument: There are not so many of you!
