machen. Im kleinen Maßstab erleichterten
die Module im Vero-„Raumzellen“-System
eine rasche Montage.
Zugleich sollten die Modelle so für
mehrere Spurweiten nutzbar sein.
Das Erdgeschoss war deshalb in H0
gestaltet, während die Obergeschosse
sich dem Maßstab TT annäherten.
Wie bei realen Architekturen konnten
die Elemente zu Gebäuden zusammengesetzt
werden, die vom eher
bescheidenen Hochhaus auf dem
Schachtel-Cover abwichen. (Vero
nutzte diese Freiheit und bot auch
eine Minol-Tankstelle in der Form
des Hochhaus-Erdgeschosses an.)
Verglichen mit dem Kinderspiel „Der
kleine Großblock-Baumeister“, das
von „plapsi“ ab 1970 produziert und
aus Einzelteilen zusammengesetzt
wurde, waren die beiden Vero-Modelle
jedoch eher unflexibel: Jedes
Raumzellen-Modul umfasste in der
Regel drei Etagen, die Modellhöhe
blieb also auf ein Mehrfaches der
Zahl Drei beschränkt.

On a small scale, the modules of the
Vero “compartment” system made
quick construction possible. At the
same time, the models were also
intended to be used for a variety of
track gauges. For this reason, the
ground floor was designed on an H0
scale, while the upper stories came
closer to a TT scale. Similar to their
real counterparts, the elements could
be combined into buildings which
could deviate from the rather modest
high-rise on the box. (Vero used this
freedom and offered a Minol gas station
in the form of a high-rise ground
floor.) Compared to the children’s
game “The little big block builder,”
which was produced by “plapsi” from
1970 onward and which was made
up of individual pieces, both of the
Vero models were comparatively
inflexible. Each module generally
contained three floors, which meant
that the model height was limited to
multiples of three.
