With the following 95 lots, we will be presenting a small but exquisite selection of covers and documents
celebrating one of the greatest Italian aviation pioneers. In addition to world-famous Italian legends such as
Umberto Nobile or Italo Balbo, there is one man whose peerless ingenuity has continued to be an inspiration
right up to the current space travel age.

Prof. Gaetano Arturo Crocco built more than 30 airships and published over 200 scientific papers. In spite of
this, his name is far less known than those of other pioneers. He is also one of just two Italians to be included in
the International Space Hall of Fame in Alamogordo in New Mexico. Museum-quality covers, letters, patents
and even technical airship drawings relating to this aviation and rocket pioneer are presented exclusively here.
