Profi, Amateur und Pedaleur<br />
Die Dichte an Topathleten ist in Tirol sehr hoch.<br />
Dabei verschwimmt die Grenze zwischen Amateur<br />
und Profi. Mit dem Team Radland Tyrol und<br />
dem Radteam Tirol gibt es gleich zwei Elite<br />
Teams, die um höchste Ehren rittern. Die Amateurkategorie<br />
kann mit Andi Traxl vom Team<br />
Mooserwirt einen Fahrer vorweisen. der nur am<br />
Papier Amateur ist, eigentlich aber als Elitefahrer<br />
starten sollte. Im Ötztal wurde mit dem Team Union<br />
Sporthütte rund um Matthias Höfler ein neues<br />
Amateur Team gegründet. Das erfolgreichste<br />
Team im Amateurbereich 2010, der RC Bike<br />
Point, musste zwar einige Fahrer abgeben, wird<br />
aber auch dieses Jahr wieder vorne mitmischen.<br />

The Tyrol is blessed with many, many<br />
mountains. Those who get onto a bike here<br />
– be it a mountain bike or a road bike – can<br />
almost always look forward to some challenging<br />
climbs and impressive views from<br />
the top. This is definitely fun but if you want<br />
to leave the bottom of Inn Valley you need a<br />
fair bit of stamina and motivation.<br />
Bike races in the Tyrol mirror the country‘s<br />
topography. They are always uphill; the<br />
steeper, the better.<br />
A lot has changed over the past years:<br />
Bikes have become lighter, racers have<br />
become faster and the entire racing scene<br />
has become more professional. But one<br />
thing has remained the same: bikers still<br />
have to pedal themselves. And that is and<br />
remains hard work, even with top material.
