Professional, amateur and pedaleur<br />
The number of top cycling athletes is very high in<br />
the Tyrol. At the same time, it is becoming harder<br />
to really differentiate between professionals and<br />
amateurs. There are two top cycling teams, the<br />
Team Radland Tyrol and the Radteam Tirol which<br />
contest for the highest cycling honours. But the<br />
amateurs, too, have strong cyclists, such as Andi<br />
Traxl of the Mooserwirt team, who is an amateur<br />
on paper but in reality could just as well<br />
start as a professional racer. In Ötz Valley,<br />
a new amateur team has been put together<br />
around Matthias Höfler. And the most successful<br />
amateur team of 2010, the RC Bike<br />
Point, will continue to be among the best,<br />
even though it has lost some cyclists.
