FLC Messages and Reports 2011 - Fellowship of the Least Coin

Pray and act for justice, peace and reconciliation
Promote and encourage global ecumenical relations
Strengthen the faith in the living God who has the power to heal
broken relationships
Offer the “least coin” with prayer, as a sign of solidarity with others,
regardless of economic status
Alleviate suffering and help restore dignity and justice for all.

Fifty four years since the inception of FLC and the contexts of Asia, and
of the whole world, still need the same: building bridges and healing
wounds. The gaps have widened and the wounded have increased in
number as we can see in the global news and in our respective communities.
Without going into details, we can say that our world is in global crisis
socially, politically, economically, environmentally and spiritually.
However, a crisis is an opportunity for creative possibilities for change. It
is written in Jeremiah 29:11-13 NRSV: “For surely I know the plans I have
for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you
a future with hope. Then when you call upon me and come and pray for
me, I will hear you. When you search for me, you will find me; if you seek
me with all your heart.”
We mark the strengthening of the covenant in faith and love and add
covenant in hope. As FLC through the years has brought hope to many
women and children through our prayers and grants, we are challenged
to continue promoting to countries in respective regions and be counted
as active participants in the Fellowship of the Least Coin through
contributions to the FLC Fund. Then our future with God is a future
with hope.
II. Sustaining the Covenant in Faith, Love and Hope
What follows is a sharing of what were done this year in the spirit of faith,
love and hope.
a. Regional ecumenical gatherings are always opportunities for letting
people hear, know more and be inspired by the FLC ecumenical spirit.
This year is time for Asia and Europe where ICFLC was given space in
the program of CCA Pre-Assembly Women’s Forum, EFECW General
Assembly for the promotion at regional level and ACWC Young Women’s
Forum for passing on the FLC legacy to our young women.
b. FLC web site www.flc.net.ph was launched in the first week of March
2010 like FLC’s offering to our partnership with World Day of Prayer
