x Attach the zipper foot with the pin on the right. Sew<br />

through all the layers from the end of the zipper<br />

opening, guiding the zipper teeth along the edge of<br />

the foot.<br />

c Stop the machine 2˝ (5 cm) before the foot reaches<br />

the slider on the zipper tape. Lower the needle into<br />

the fabric, and raise the foot. Open the zipper, then<br />

lower the foot and stitch the remainder of the<br />

seam.<br />

o 2˝ (5 cm)<br />

v Close the zipper and open the upper fabric flat over<br />

the zipper. Baste the upper fabric and zipper tape<br />

together.<br />

!0 Basting stitch<br />

b Detach the foot and attach it with the pin on the<br />

left. Backstitch across the end of opening 3/8˝ (1 cm).<br />

Turn the fabric 90 degrees and stitch through the<br />

garment and zipper tape.<br />

!1 Backstitch<br />

n Stop the machine 2˝ (5 cm) before the foot reaches<br />

the slider on the zipper tape. Lower the needle into<br />

the fabric, and raise the foot. Remove the basting<br />

stitches.<br />

!2 Basting stitches<br />

m Open the zipper, then lower the foot and stitch the<br />

remainder of the seam.<br />

After finished sewing, remove the basting stitches on<br />

the upper fabric.
