Folger Shakespeare Library MCI 6264 Janssen Shakespeare Portrait MCI Staff: Jennifer Giaccai, Jia-sun Tsang, Mel J. Wachowiak, Judy Watson, Nicole C. Little, Ron H. Cunningham A technical study of the portrait is underway, including analysis of both the original paint and overpaint. Close examination, UV fluorescence examination, X-radiography, infrared reflectography, wood identification, radiocarbon dating, optical and fluorescence microscopy, SEM imaging, FTIR, XRD, GC-MS, X-ray fluorescence and X-ray fluorescence imaging will all potentially be used to analyze the portrait. 178
