MINIMUM INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS FOR CONDUCTING A PME<br />

EQUIVALENCY REVIEW<br />

The following categories of data comprise the minimum essential information for a conclusive<br />

determination of program equivalency/comparability with AF PME Programs. Complete below<br />

and submit to AU/CF.<br />

1. Instructional Program<br />

a. Purpose<br />

b. Mission<br />

c. Duration (Calendar Weeks/Months)<br />

d. Class Military Rank and Years of Military Service<br />

e. Degree or Diploma Awarded<br />

f. Exercises, Field Trips, Research Required<br />

2. Faculty<br />

a. Number of Teaching Faculty (Military and Civilian)<br />

b. Typical Credentials of Military/Civilian Faculty (Rank, Service Affiliation, Prior<br />

Education, Service Experience)<br />

c. Do Faculty teach all Courses? Do External Personnel Teach in the Program? Are Any<br />

Classes Student Led? Explain.<br />

3. Curriculum<br />

a. Total Academic Hours (contact hours, research, field trips, other)<br />

b. Description of Course (Courses should cover all core courses in the PME program being<br />

compared to; content should be the same or very similar)<br />

c. Military Exercises (Should be similar in scope, breadth, realism, and rigor as the exercises<br />

used in the PME school being compared to)<br />

d. Complete Course Syllabus Should Contain Course and Lesson Objectives, Lists of<br />

Assigned Readings, and Description of Oral and Written Assignments (If a complete course<br />

syllabus is not readily available in English, countries should provide a narrative description of<br />

the level of learning each major instructional area is designed to achieve)<br />

e. Description of Student Evaluations (tests, papers, thesis, briefings, etc.)<br />

f. Description of Graduation Requirements.
